Mastering Services

Audio mastering is the final polish on a song before it’s released. In simple terms it makes a song sound its best everywhere - on earbuds, car speakers, club systems, laptops etc.

Here’s what mastering actually involves:

  • Balancing loudness – making sure the track is competitively loud without crushing the dynamics

  • EQ tweaks – subtle tone adjustments so nothing sounds harsh, muddy, or thin

  • Compression & limiting – controlling peaks and smoothing the overall sound

  • Stereo enhancement – making the track feel wide and clear, but still solid in mono

  • Consistency – if it’s an album or EP, mastering makes all tracks feel like they belong together

A good way to think about it:

  • Mixing = cooking the meal (balancing all the ingredients)

  • Mastering = plating it and making sure it tastes great no matter where it’s served

Mastering doesn’t fix a bad mix—it elevates a good one.

Mixdown phase

Before sending in your track for mastering, the mix should be in the best shape possible so the master can really shine.

Issues to look out for:

  • Too much bass

  • Harsh resonances

  • Overcompressed premaster

  • Too much reverb

  • Phase issues

  • Certain sounds sounding dull while the others sound bright (each require frequency boost or cutting, which will emphasise the issue of one of the two)

Why it matters?

A well mastered track:

  • Translates well across systems

  • Sounds louder while preserving dynamics

  • Feels “pro” instead of “demo”

You can release music without mastering, but mastering is what makes listeners go,
“Damn… this bangs.”
